Poker Legend - Phil Ivey

Phil Ivey - Poker ProGambling is a whole other universe. People, who live in obscurity in typical day to day lives, are treated as gods when they get around a poker table and play games like Texas Hold Em. Many people derive secret pleasure from this.

However, do not be fooled, gambling is very popular and not an underground world as you might think. There are people who excel at different games, but one popular game is poker.

Known as one of the best in the world of poker playing, Phil Ivey is a household name. His earnings have exceeded well over ten million dollars in live, cash tournaments. Even though he might have finished in the 2009 World Series of Poker Events, he still earned well over a million dollars playing games like Texas Hold Em.

He has made even more money online playing on websites like www.pokerstars.co.uk . Phil Ivey racks up a lot of money when he plays and he has been doing this since his late teens. He plays online poker often at particular virtual poker sites. He becomes a member of their Team. In 2009, he beat many opponents to add up to seven million dollars in earnings.

This consistently top performing poker player is from riverside, California born on February the 1st, 1976. His family soon after moved to New Jersey. His nickname "No Home Jerome" comes from the fact that he got his fake Id long before he was at a legal age to play in casinos. He has played in many places including Atlantic City, but he didn’t at first play in casinos; he earned his stripes when he worked in New Brunswick, New Jersey at a telemarketing firm in the 1990's.

Since the year 2000 he has earned seven World Series of Poker Events (WSOP) bracelets. The number of games he has played like Texas Hold Em and won are too numerous to mention. His millions came from at least eighty three live tournaments, of which he has won no less than eighteen. According to statistics he has racked up $11,010,347 when he came seventh in the World Series of Poker Events in 2009.

Phil Ivey has won one hundred and one games. The largest amount he has ever won in any one game is $1,596,100 and this was when he played and won the LA Poker Classic WPT 6 Championship. As previously mentioned he has seven World Series of Poker Events (WSOP) bracelets which he won in one in the 2000 WSOP Event #14 Pot Limit Omaha, three in 2002 WSOP Event #5 Limit 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo, WSOP Event #16 Limit 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo and WSOP Event #23 Limit S.H.O.E. In 2005 he won the WSOP Event #27 Pot Limit Omaha.

He also racked up two more gold bracelets in 2009 in the WSOP Event #9 No Limit 2-7 Lowball and the WSOP Event #25 Omaha & 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo. In total he has played over thirty nine World Series of Poker Events and received fewer than five million dollars in winnings.
